Kelly attended Penn State Berks where she received her bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and molecular biology. While at Penn State Berks, she had the opportunity to study the mechanism of the polyamine transport system in regards to non-melanoma skin cancer using Drosophila melanogasteras a model organism. Her lab experience at Penn State Berks made her want to pursue a graduate degree. In July 2018 Kelly began her graduate career at Penn State College of Medicine. She is currently studying the regulation of the SASP in senescent cells through epigenetic changes.
